Important Information Regarding EMV Debit Card
By August 11th you will receive your new Wepawaug-Flagg Visa Debit Card. The new debit cards now come with built-in chip technology.
You will need to activate your new card following the automated prompts. Please properly dispose of your old debit card. Starting August 30, 2017, your Mastermoney Mastercard debit card will no longer be active.
How do I use the new card?
Call the activation number attached to your new card from your primary phone, and be prepared to answer a few security questions. You will be automatically prompted to select a new PIN upon successful activation of your card.
Can I still use my pin number?
Yes, you will get an option to select your new PIN upon activating your new card. The card will function the same as your previous debit card.
What if there is no chip option?
You can still slide your credit card for transactions at all retailers that are not chip enabled.
Why is EMV better?
There is increased security with an EMV card. When you use a card at a chip-activated terminal, the embedded chip generates a one-time use code. This code is virtually impossible to counterfeit and helps reduce in-store fraud.
Will I have to pay additional fees to use my new chip card?
No, there will be no additional fees to use your chip card.
