Wepawaug-Flagg Supports Hamden’s National Night Out
August 06, 2013
Hamden - Wepawaug-Flagg Federal Credit Union donated $250 in support of Hamden’s National Night Out—a free event aimed at enhancing community relationships.
Hamden's National Night Out—held on Aug. 6—featured local entertainment, a cookout, arts and crafts, face painting, moon bounces, community resources and giveaways, according to Hamden’s Youth Services Bureau. The annual event is designed to build a sense of community, generate support for anti-crime and drug prevention programs, while also strengthening police-community partnerships.
With the donation, event organizers were able to purchase fruit—giving attendees a healthy option at the event. Meanwhile, WFFCU’s Marketing Manager David Hinchey volunteered at the event to help supervise a giant inflatable slide.
The event is sponsored by the Hamden Youth Services Bureau in collaboration with the Town of Hamden Police, Fire, Arts, Recreation and Culture, Public Works and Community Services Departments.
